At a recent meeting, DFES Wellness Branch psychologists presented an overview of the work their team does and it included a note that all volunteers and their families – including members of a Bush Fire Brigade – have access to the Department’s Wellness services, including the external Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services’ (DFES) Wellness Branch provides and coordinates a range of support services aimed at enhancing the physical, spiritual and psychological health and wellbeing of the fire and emergency services community. Services provided by the Wellness Branch can be accessed by DFES employees from all commands, volunteers and their immediate family in most circumstances.
