Just a quick reminder ahead of the DFES ad below – for 26,000 amazing West Australian women and men, Firefighting is neither a job or career – it’s an incredible act of generosity they donate to keep us all safe.
The Association of Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades (AVBFB) appreciates the need to recruit for the long term, and our passionate, professional and deeply experienced volunteers value the specialist work WA’s 1,100 or so paid firefighters do in their urban roles and as a support to the bush fire service, SES and other volunteers in more rural settings. However, we have always taken our role of supporting and promoting our members in WA’s largest and most diverse emergency service very seriously and as such, felt the need to just introduce the important DFES ad with a little reminder of the full extent of WA’s emergency service team.
And just in case anyone feels the need to have a go at us for being so proud to remind readers of our awesome volunteer bush fire volunteers, this is our page and as is very obvious below, we are happy to give DFES free space to promote other services that our volunteers overwhelmingly respect and appreciate in their own right.
We need people who are committed to supporting the vision, mission and role of our organisation.
Our core values (PDF – 532 KB) guide what we look for in firefighters. We need our people to embody and be passionate about our values so that we can provide the best possible service to help keep the Western Australian community safe.
If you think you’re ready to join our highly skilled team, our recruitment campaign will open on 8th January 2019 and close on 22nd January 2019.
Applications will be accepted online via the DFES website or jobs.wa.gov.au. An Information Pack will be made available shortly.
