One of the more spritely members of the Association of Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades (AVBFB) committee and her Brigade have created a Volunteer BFB team to compete in this year’s HBF Run For A Reason and is calling on other BFB volunteers to join them on Sunday 27 May.
Veronica tells us not-so-energetic types that last year, members of her Bedfordale Brigade undertook the 12km circuit in full turnout gear and raised funds for Lifeline. She says it was not only fantastic to be able to raise funds for such a worthy cause, it was also a great team-building experience for the Brigade and awesome to get some exposure for the Gold PPE!
This year, the chosen charity is ‘Sirens of Silence’ who support and provide assistance to emergency services personnel suffering under the weight depression.
The team is called ‘Bush Fire Volunteers’ and those interested in joining can do so online by visiting this link: https://www.registernow.com.au/secure/Register.aspx?E=28280&G=60875
Ronnie tells us if you are prompted for a password, it is: Bushfire
Once you are registered, don’t forget to also join the team fundraising page and invite all your friends and colleagues to log on and pledge their support for this very worthy cause: https://hbfrun2018.everydayhero.com/au/bush-fire-volunteers
