The public just don’t get to see it – but at almost any time in every town of every local government across the width and breadth of the great State of WA, some of the amazing 26,000 women and men of our invaluable, diverse Volunteer Bush Fire Service (VBFS) are hard at it. And to many, the image that might come to mind would be holding a hose against a wall of flames… but the truth is being a modern, highly skilled emergency services volunteer requires so much more than that.
Cleaning, preparing, maintaining, upgrading, planning, working with local governments and very importantly, training are all critical aspects of what it is to be one of incredible members of our extended family.
And that brings us to the post below from the team at Tom Price FRS and BFB declaring yet another bunch of even more professional, highly skilled volunteers.
Thank you all for everything you do for us, including all the time you spend becoming the highly skilled experts who have our backs 24/7.
